The coconut sundae is truly the bomb. You get 3 scoops of your choice of coconut ice cream (vegan), pandan, Thai tea, or mango, served with fresh mango on top with slices of fresh coconut in a beautiful coconut shell. The spot is small but cutely decorated with many plants and a few seats both indoors and outdoors. Will definitely come back here!
This is my first time at Coco Bomb. They have been open for 2 years. It is a small location, but I personally think that they have ample seating. Inside against the wall they have 2 four person table, along the window they have seating. And some benches along the wall. And then outside 2 more tables that seat four people under a lovely shaded space. And then a few high seats near the front. The interior is really cool (in temperature), it feels so nice to be in here when outside is hot! I love the design of the place because it feels tropical with all the plants and the use of the natural wood is so lovely! The menu is cohesive and designed beautifully. There were so many options, I struggled thinking of what to get! I recommend you look at the counter because sometimes they have a few specialty poster menu cards there. They have drinks, ice cream, etc. Bathroom is for employees only. The workers there were extremely kind and patient. The ice cream is all vegan, dairy free, and gluten free. It's made in store as well. I had the pandan ice cream and the coconut ice cream with jackfruit as my topping. The coconut ice cream is smooth and creamy, no wonder why it's their specialty! The pandan ice cream had a punching flavor of pandan-- it was delicious! I think in comparison, the pandan was better than coconut in flavor. The coconut was more subtle. The only thing was that the pandan ice cream was on the edge of being icy! It was smooth and creamy, but when you use your spoon to get a scoop you feel that slight textural difference (compared to the coconut). The jackfruit was sweet and yummy. She also drizzled a light coating of condensed milk. The scoops were big and well rounded, great bang for your buck. Next time, I'll try one of their other desserts. Something that I wouldn't normally eat. I recommend this place!
I LOVEEE COCO BOMB! If you love coconut, this is the spot for you. And if you don't like coconut--I don't know why you're going here LOL. Small cafe located in Linda Vista with limited and interesting parking but I always manage to find a spot. The AC inside is nice and strong and they have both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating has lots of beautiful plants. As for their desserts and drinks I have tried the coconut water, sundaes, and mango sticky rice. Their mango sticky rice wasn't anything special to me tbh. I really love mango sticky rice but their's did not do it for me :( Their coconut water is very refreshing and is a large size and comes with plenty of coconut chunks! yum! They also added mango, pandan, and thai tea sorbets recently to their menu which you can put in your sundae. All of the sorbets here are delicious but the mango and coconut are my favorite. The mango sorbet has actual mango chunks in it. If you're unsure what to get, you can get samples! Service is very quick and the workers here are so friendly, pricing is affordable, and the quantity of things here are large yet still high quality. The only thing is I wish they didn't close at 7 :( its so early and I want to take people here after having dinner on Convoy. Maybe one day they can change their hours.
Cute little cafe with delicious Thai desserts. We tried the coconut rice cream and added mango & sticky rice. Perfect dessert for a hot day. They also have Bua loy which is one of my favorites, a dessert rice and taro balls in warm coconut milk. We also tried the coconut pandan pudding. Everything we tried was tasty and reminded me of homemade desserts I grew up eating. Seating inside is pretty limited, but there is some additional seating outside with 2 tables and some bar seating. Will be back to try more goodies!
I'm a huge fan of coconut ice cream and this spot was such a treat!! Parking can be hard, but once you get in there you've made it. I had the 3 scoop sundae with mango. Tried the coconut and mango ice cream which is dairy-free, vegan, and delicious!!! Not too sweet but still satisfying. The mango ice cream had chunks of mango in it. The best part was the mango on top which was the sweetest I've ever had. Not gonna lie, I wanted more!! Employees were sweet and offered to let me sample the pandan flavor. Inside is cute but small. Try to grab a seat but during busy hours expect to take it an eat it in the car lol
This spot does NOT disappoint!! I know where I'm coming next time I want my mango sticky rice fix. There are so many good options of ice cream and toppings to choose from. The lady at the counter let us sample the flavors before buying. The space is super cute and is going to be an adorable fall spot when it's not too hot and not too cold to sit outside and enjoy the sun.
COME HERE if you are searching for the best coconut ice cream! I ordered a coconut sundae with mango to share but once I took my first bite, I regret not order my own. The coconut flavor was rich and you can definitely taste that it is made from the coconut itself. It's simply AMAZING and you got to come here to try for yourself. The store is a little small with limited seating. I can imagine it being packed on a hot summer weekend. Customer service was fantastic. There were a lot of items on the menu that I wasn't familiar with and the worker was helpful in explaining. 100% would come back next time I am in SD and I'll recommend this to all my friends!
We stopped by this dessert shop on a friend's recommendation, and it turned out to be one of the best I've tried in a while. We ordered three items: the coconut sundae, coconut cake, and mango sticky rice. All three desserts were delicious, but the standout for me was the coconut sunday since it was incredibly rich and creamy. If you love coconuts and mangos, this place is a must-visit!
On an extremely hot day in San Diego, this establishment was a pleasant surprise! Walked into the nicely air conditioned building to be greeted by the pleasant aroma of coconut. There was one worker, and she was amazing and extremely helpful. I ordered a sundae (2 coconut, 1 vanilla scoop) with added mango on top. Also ordered the coconut milk frappuccino! All of the above were absolutely amazing-- because I had boba in my drink, she asked if I wanted the rest of the drink in a separate cup since the boba took up a lot of space. I have never had anyone ask me this before at any drink place, which was such a friendly gesture. Will DEFINITELY be back to this place the next time I visit San Diego. Give this place a try, the people and the menu are both amazing!
Came back and got to try more desserts from here! They have a tv in the front that displays pictures of different desserts as well so you can see. The lot chong reminds me vietnamese che and has more jackfruit than I expected which is appreciated. The coconut water was so lovely and fresh. The pandan pudding was an amazing texture and you can tell how fresh the actual pandan is. The coconut sundae was amazing as usual. This spot is super cute and they're always so kind and helpful. Everything is so fresh and delicious as well!
